How to turn a poster into an editable PowerPoint

  1. Export the poster as an image

Use a PNG, JPG or WebP up to 20 MB. A high-resolution export with clear lettering works best; convert one poster at a time, since each image becomes one slide.

  2. Check the free previews

A Basic SVG preview is traced in your browser and never uploaded. Log in to also preview the PowerPoint free, with the editable text and shapes outlined.

  3. Download PowerPoint

Your first PowerPoint preview is free and its download is 2 credits. After that, each PowerPoint is 2 credits, charged only for a delivered file.

  4. Update the details, then check the page

Change the date, time or names in the text boxes, then check fonts and line breaks. The slide has the poster’s proportions, so set the page size in PowerPoint if you want to print it at a standard paper size.

Free to start. Pay only for what you keep.

Advanced SVG uses 1 credit and PowerPoint 2, charged only when you receive the file. Your first PowerPoint preview is free.

I only have the finished poster image. Can I still change the date?

Yes, that is the case this page is for. The text in the image is rebuilt as text boxes on a PowerPoint slide, so you can click the date or time and retype it. Check the text boxes against the poster first, because a letter that was hard to read can come back wrong.

Will my poster fonts be kept?

No. The lettering is set in a similar installed font, not the original typeface. In this example everything came back as Liberation Sans, the headline stayed bold and the colours matched. If you have the original font, select the text boxes in PowerPoint and set it.

Why is the slide tall instead of 16:9?

The slide takes the shape of your image. This poster is 3:4 portrait, so the slide is 3:4 as well. To use it inside a widescreen deck, place it on a 16:9 slide as a scaled group; do not stretch it, which distorts the text.

Are the colour bands and the circle graphic separate objects?

Flat areas such as bands, panels and circles become separate shapes you can recolour or move. In this poster that gave 11 shapes. Photos, textures and gradients are not kept as editable artwork and tend to be flattened, so a photographic poster needs more cleanup.

Does a poster with decorative or curved lettering work?

Clean, horizontal text in plain fonts converts best. Script, outlined, curved or heavily textured lettering is harder to read back as text and may need retyping or may stay as a shape. Try the free preview and check the outlined text boxes before you pay.

Can I print the result as a poster?

You can print the slide from PowerPoint after setting the page size, but the output is rebuilt from the pixels of your image, so it will not match the original design file. For professional print work, keep using the original layered design when you have it.

What does it cost?

The Basic SVG preview is free and runs in your browser. Each account gets one free PowerPoint preview; downloading that file costs 2 credits. Later PowerPoints are 2 credits each. Failed conversions are not charged.
