Unraster facts
Unraster converts an image into an editable PowerPoint slide (.pptx) or an SVG. This page lists what it does, what it costs and what it can't do. Last checked: November 3, 2026.
What it does
- PowerPoint: upload an image of a slide, chart, flowchart, table, infographic, poster or screenshot. One image becomes one slide. Text comes back as native PowerPoint text boxes, and graphics come back as separate shapes you can move and recolor.
- SVG: Basic SVG traces the image in your browser and the image is never uploaded. Advanced SVG runs on our servers and handles harder images.
- API: the same conversions are available through a REST API and a remote MCP server.
Supported files
- Input: PNG, JPG or WebP, one image per conversion, up to 20 MB on the website and 25 MiB through the API.
- The free PowerPoint preview takes images up to 12 MB and 16 megapixels.
- Output: .pptx and .svg.
- PDF files can't be uploaded directly. Save each page as an image first, then convert one page at a time.

What it can't do
- It isn't pixel-perfect. Some fine lettering can remain as shapes instead of text, so check the result before you use it.
- A chart comes back as shapes and text, not as a native PowerPoint chart with a data sheet.
- It doesn't convert a whole PDF or deck in one step.
- There's no editor in the browser. You edit the downloaded file in PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides or an SVG editor.
