A vector emblem, exported at 1024 px.
A real export from this tool. The emblem has no background, so the PNG keeps its transparent corners; they show here as a checkerboard.

The file has only a viewBox and no width or height, so its size is taken from the viewBox. A PNG is a fixed grid of pixels: export at the largest size you will need. Download the sample PNG
How to convert SVG to PNG
- Open your SVG
Choose a file, drop it on the page or paste the code. Nothing leaves your device.
- Choose the size
Pick 1x, 2x or 4x, or type the width in pixels. The height follows the drawing, and the tool warns you if the size is too large for a browser to draw.
- Download the PNG
Transparent areas stay transparent. If you need a solid background, use the SVG to JPG tool or add one in your design software.
What works best
Good fits
- Icons, logos and diagrams you need at an exact size for a website, app or slide
- Artwork that must keep a transparent background
- Files with only a viewBox, where other tools export a tiny or empty image
Keep in mind
- A PNG cannot be scaled up later without softening, so export the biggest size you need.
- Text uses fonts available on your device. Fonts the SVG does not embed may be replaced.
- Sizes are limited to what a browser can draw, about 40 megapixels.

How do I convert an SVG to a PNG with a transparent background?
Open the SVG and download the PNG. Any area the SVG does not paint stays transparent in the PNG. If you see a solid colour, the SVG itself contains a background rectangle.
What size should I export an SVG at?
Export at the size where the PNG will be shown, or double it for sharp results on high-density screens. A 24 px icon shown at 48 px logical size needs a 96 px PNG on a 2x screen.
My SVG has no width or height. What size will the PNG be?
The size is taken from the viewBox, so a viewBox of 0 0 200 100 starts at 200 by 100 pixels. You can then choose a multiplier or any width, and the height follows. Without a viewBox or a size the tool tells you it cannot work out the size.
Why is there a limit on the size?
Browsers run out of memory on very large images. The tool caps the output near 40 megapixels and tells you when it has reduced your request.
Why does the text in my PNG look different?
An SVG can point to fonts that only exist on the designer's computer. The browser then uses a similar font on yours. Convert the text to outlines in your design software before exporting if the exact letter shapes matter.
Is my SVG uploaded to a server?
No. It is drawn and saved by your browser on your device. Scripts, embedded web content and links to other sites inside the file are removed before drawing.
